BIOS

| Born
in Wilmington, Delaware, our editor Dave Hershorin is
a 37-year old journeyman journalist who wears many hats.
A graduate of University of Florida (he also went to Florida
State, where his allegiances remain), he moved to New
Orleans promptly after graduation. Dave had a twice-weekly
jazz radio show for the past ten years in New Orleans,
as well as being a music writer for Where Y'at, a regional
culturally-based magazine. His videography company, Hersh
Productions, was integral in chronicling the improvisational
music the Crescent City offered. Dave's culinary efforts
were fostered well enough while in New Orleans to afford
him his latest career pivot, as an in-home creative gourmet/nutritionist.
After migrating north to Pittsburgh just last summer,
Dave presently resides in the city with his wife, Jill,
and their two kids (dogs), Dominique and Ruby.
Dave's
love for the game started when the 1974 season kicked,
watching Archie Griffin at Ohio State win his unprecedented
and yet-to-be-repeated two Heismans. Inside connections
(Grandparents) with the Buckeyes gave him knowledge
of how a team's inner-workings affect subsequent outcomes.
This knowledge grew over his teenage years, affording
Dave the ability to hone his observational skills, which
ultimately developed into insightful analysis and poignant
prognosticating. He took this with him in 1985 to Florida
State as an 18-year old, wide-eyed freshman. Dave's
understanding of the game was about to increase 1000-fold.
Dave
was introduced to a young, hotshot walk-on NT named
Todd Helmick (NationalChamps.net founder) who similarly
lived in Salley Hall. This relationship began a challenging
of Dave's football knowledge that continues to this
day. The depth of the game Todd (a.k.a. Inside99) introduced
is why you are reading this today - he showed Dave what
the site was missing and challenged him accordingly.
Now the site's editor, their collaboration is the present
foundation supporting all content.
