QUICK ANALYSIS

November 28, 2003 - All you have to do is look over the depth charts to see what happened to the Vols let down in 2002. Injuries and more injuries just decimated this squad (names like Kelley Washington, Jason Respert, Ritzman, Peace, Burnett, Baker, etc…you get the point). The good news is that most of them should be back in time for August practice. So, will senior QB Casey Clausen be lining up behind center once again? Big things were expected from Clausen, but nagging injuries force him to struggle as well. If healthy, the offensive line may be the best the SEC has to offer. Plus, some extremely talented running backs are in the fold. Holes will remain on defense at key areas. Coaches will have to piece together a sturdier unit on that side of the ball for UT to make any run at the conference crown. Everyone knows the Vols receive high recruiting marks every year so it's impossible to deny them a decent ranking.
