* DEPTH CHARTS were only designed as a simplistic
gauge for listing players that departed and players that
received the most playing experience (consistent starters).
NationalChamps.net recognizes the importance of missing
personnel data not listed such as redshirts, transfers,
injuries, incoming recruits, back ups, and alternates.
Their coverage will begin with our full 2004 Preseason
Preview due out this coming spring. |

QUICK
ANALYSIS
|
Auburn
was the most overrated team of 2003. Some may
even hint that giving the Tigers another preseason
Top 25 prediction is too generous, so we have
them at #25 and still on the radar. Look, the
talent is here. Enough remains again in 2004 to
where a run at the SEC West is certainly not out
of the question. Coach Tuberville has to fix the
scratchy record also known as Jason Campbell at
QB. His marginal sound remains the same. If you
could rewind the clock back to August, we asked
the same exact question. However, Carnell Williams,
should he return for his senior year, would certainly
be a leading Heisman Candidate. Even with an early
departure, Auburn is set at RB on a list that
goes four-deep. A hyped OL also returns over half
of that unit, and the receivers are gifted and
now experienced. The glaring aspect holding Auburn
back would be the huge losses of duel LBs Thomas
and Dansby. With only two starters back on the
defensive front-seven, stopping the run could
be a problem. More than enough talent exists,
which creates even more pressure to succeed than
what Coach Tuberville faced heading into 2003.
