QUICK ANALYSIS

Tiger Jeopardy - I'll take Brad Smith for 2000 please, Alex…that would be 1000 rushing yards and 1000 passing yards in back-to-back seasons for the "still young" Missouri QB. Even though the offense lost some artillery, the main focus is still on Smith at QB. Just piece a few loose ends together, such as finding a few offensive linemen, and Missouri has a chance to trump its 8-4 regular season campaign of 2003. Mostly, that has to do with the loss of only two starters on the other side of the ball. Defensively, Missouri finished ranked fifth in the Big XII in total defense. The team's top tackler, James Kinney (141 tackles), leads a group of talented veterans…maybe not so much from an individual standpoint, but more so within a team dimension. The main concerns, once again, will be patching together a new OL and finding a running back to take heat off of Smith. The bottom line here is - you just cannot ignore the combo of Brad Smith and a steady defense. Missouri is Top 25 worthy.
