* DEPTH CHARTS were only designed as a simplistic
gauge for listing players that departed and players that
received the most playing experience (consistent starters).
NationalChamps.net recognizes the importance of missing
personnel data not listed such as redshirts, transfers,
injuries, incoming recruits, back ups, and alternates.
Their coverage will begin with our full 2004 Preseason
Preview due out this coming spring. |

QUICK
ANALYSIS
|
In
2002, WVU and Rich Rodriguez knocked on the door.
In 2003, WVU and Rich Rodriguez pounded on the
door. They may just kick it in after 2004 is said
and done. At the completion of 2002, it was RB
Avon Cobourne departing from this run oriented
spread offense. Now Quincy Wilson is departing
and Kay-Jay Harris will be called upon to carry
the load. Anyone watching Harris play knows he
has the capability of repeating Wilson's achievements.
Unlike the start of last preseason, coaches will
have an experienced OL with which to work, for
once. The key will rest in the continued passing
improvement of soon-to-be-senior QB Rasheed Marshall.
Defensively, the Mountaineer DL is full of juniors
and mostly seniors. But just how much did LB Grant
Wiley mean to this team? We'll find out as Grant
moves on, as does Brian King and Lance Frazier
from the secondary. If coaches can find a fix
for the defensive backfield in this 3-3-5 alignment,
2004 should be Rodriguez' best campaign yet.
