QUICK ANALYSIS

With this much experience returning, the pressure will be on Head Coach Barry Alvarez to push for another conference crown and a return trip to the Rose Bowl. Departing QB Jim Sorgi really got hot at the end of the regular 2003 season, but his replacement Matt Schabert has proven to be an adequate replacement when Sorgi missed time due to injury. The Badgers have a trio of RBs, which still includes Anthony Davis, a sure Heisman frontrunner after sitting out much of 2003 with injuries. Much of the nation witnessed the awesome power of this mammoth OL over the course of the entire season and they will all return...from TE to the OT on the other side. Defensively, the Badgers are stocked up front on the DL, led by Jonathan Welsh and his eight sacks. If talent can be found at LB to fill in for the departures of Jeff Mack and Alex Lewis, Wisconsin will be considered one of the early favorites to win the Big Ten.
