BEST
PLAYER: Kory Lichtensteiger
TOP
NEWCOMERS: RB Dan Macon / QB Anthony
Turner
STRENGTH:
The RBs may not be as deep as a year ago,
but redshirt junior Dan Macon has size to
match the fact he is the fastest player
on the team; Depth at WR, this group could
surprise some people; The best unit on offense
will be the OL, two-time All-MAC guard Kory
Lichtensteiger moves over to the crucial
center position where he will make the line
calls.
CONCERN:
None of the current QBs replacing Omar Jacobs
have played a significant amount of time,
projected starter Anthony Turner closely
resembles former QB Josh Harris as he did
manage to rack up 170 rushing yards last
season; All of the TEs are unproven; The
skill positions have talent but lack experience.

DEFENSE |
BEST
PLAYER: DE Devon Parks
TOP
NEWCOMER: DE Diyral Briggs
STRENGTH:
The DL is smaller but much faster and should
be more disruptive; DEs Briggs and Parks
should add a pass rush dimension; CB Antonio
Smith earned All-Freshman honors last season
and gives the Falcons a solid cover man,
he may be the best player on defense.
CONCERN:
The LBs were hit hard with graduation,
the nation's 86th ranked rushing defense
will have the task of trying to improve
with some young faces in the lineup; The
front seven will have to counter with speed
as size is an issue; The secondary will
put their future at the hands of underclassmen,
this group could have difficulties if a
pass rush cannot be found.

2006
SPECIAL TEAMS |
KICKER
The kicking position has deteriorated to some
degree and needs an overhaul. No one on this 2006
team has attempted a kick yet. Incoming freshman
Sean Ellis had some great success at the high
school level in the state of Florida and will
be given first shot. He also is the likely candidate
to handle kickoffs.
PUNTER
Another incoming freshman from the state of Florida
will have to handle punting duties. Alonso Rojas
was rated the nation's No. 1 punter by Scout.com.
He averaged 46 yards per kick while helping his
high school team from Miami win a state title.
