Seniors Snow and Hunt will steady the backfield, while Williams and King add speed galore. King goes both ways, and he will be the centerpiece of PSU’s revampings in the secondary. Only the LBs return intact (a good start), though, it is always DL changes that mean the most in this running conference. Only one of four return to the trenches to start, so expect 2005’s consistent penetration to suffer. Their only break on the schedule is that Michigan comes to State College. Otherwise, trips into Ohio State and Notre Dame test the Lion’s metal early, and Akron to start is not easy, trust us. If this squad can head into their slate’s second half with one loss or less, they could be in Tempe by the New Year.
