- Since
quarterback Shane
Carden took over he
has been a force relying
heavily on big time
receiver Justin Hardy.
This will be a deadly
duo in 2013, however
Carden needs to start
looking at other receivers
more often.
- Vintavious
Cooper stabilized
the ground game rushing
for over 1,000 yards
and earning All-Conference
honors. This was even
more impressive considering
he was an option quarterback
thrust into a major
role by injuries to
the other running
backs. The talent
is here but the ground
game is not the best
option when ECU has
the ball (ranked 91st
nationally in rushing).
- ECU
won't climb anywhere
without improving
this defensive backfield.
- The
Pirates have become
a consistent force
in Conference USA
but have struggled
when stepping outside
of league play. With
18 starters returning
it's likely they will
be the favorite to
win CUSA. Whether
that can equate to
a Top 25 ranking at
some point remains
to be seen.
