Granted this offense wasn't lighting up the stats department in 2013. However, don't expect the Spartans to lean on the defense so much next season. Coming back are a bevy of skill people that include all the top rushers and most all of the receivers while Connor Cook has proven to be an efficient signal caller who will continue to get better. Bookends Shilique Calhoun and Marcus Rush on the defensive side will provide a pass rush nightmare for opposing offenses.

Long story short, this offensive line has some rebuilding to do. The unit has proven to be capable at times but also had its share of weaknesses. Experience is thin and developing this unit will likely be the top priority come spring. This was the nation's No. 1 ranked defense so there is no reason to believe the newer version won't be more than capable. The front seven has been remarkable at shutting down Big Ten rushing attacks. Don't expect the same stellar results while a few of the spots have been hit with graduation, then again don't sell this group short despite the holes that need refilling.
