Old Dominion is playing its first season of football in 2009. The information I received previously from the university was partially incorrect - the team's actual helmets do not have any stripes (or at least they did not during the team's second game against Virginia Union).
Savannah State also has a new helmet design in 2009 (shown above).

During the mid-1990s, NCCU was using silver helmets with maroon faceguards and the team name "Eagles" on the sides of the helmets, in cursive, maroon letters.
In 2002, NCCU was using a silver and/or white "flying eagle" decal, as shown in the photograph below. I would appreciate a copy of this logo so that I may add this helmet to the web site.
