Descriptions of some of the team's earlier helmet designs have been provided:

• c. mid-1960s: white helmets with a white "B" inside a purple "sphere";
• ? - 1976: silver helmets with a logo consisting of a white "B" inside a purple shield; purple/white/purple 1" stripes;
• 1977 - 1978: white helmets with a logo consisting of a burnt orange "B" inside a purple shield; orange/purple/orange stripes;
• 1979: white helmets with silver/purple/silver stripes and the current "Gaiters" logo.
