Austin Peay used five different helmet designs in 2017 in the following sequence: A-A-A; A-A-A; C-B-B; C-D-E.

*1 This design was reportedly first used during the October 24, 2009 home game against Eastern Kentucky.

*2 Uniform numerals are worn on the left side only of this design; a "governor" logo is worn on the right side (as represented below).

*3 Uniform numerals are worn on the left side only of this design; the "AP" logo is worn on the right side (as represented below).

The photograph below shows a helmet design used by Eastern Illinois during at least the 1972 season; the shell appears to be white, but the colors of the "E" and the dark stripe cannot be determined, of course, from this photograph. Information about other historical helmets would be appreciated.

In 2017 EKU used four different helmet designs in the following sequence: A-A-B; C-D-C; A-A-A; C-C.

EKU's team nickname was changed from "Maroons" to "Colonels" in 1963.

*1 This design was used at least during home games against Western Kentucky and Morehead State in 2008 (and perhaps during other games, also?).

In recent years JSU has used the following sequences of helmet designs:

In 1984 JSU used white helmets with red facemasks and with a red "JSU" logo on both sides; below are some of the better photographs of this design from the school's 1985 yearbook. There appears to be an oblong white shape among the letters - it looks a bit like the state of Tennessee, though this is surely not the case. Any clearer photographs would be appreciated.

I have received a report indicating that Jacksonville State used red helmets with white uniform numerals on both sides from at least 1967 through 1976. The 1984 helmet design has been described as having a "pearl white" shell and white facemask, a red 1" stripe, and a logo consisting of a red "Old English 'J'". I would greatly appreciate photographs of these or other historical JSU helmets.

The team used three different helmet designs in 2002. JSU began the season wearing white numerals on their helmets; these were used for the team's first seven games. On October 26, the old oval-shaped logo was brought back for a single home game against Stephen F. Austin; this was done in recognition of the 10th anniversary of JSU's 1992 Division II National Championship season. The team used plain red helmets for its last three games in 2002 and then adopted a new design in 2003.

*1 Numerals were used only on the left side of each helmet; the right side featured an enormous "gamecock" logo (as shown below) which partially spilled over to the left hemisphere.

*2 Helmet design 'D' has the "JSU" logo on its left side only; the right side has white uniform numerals (as represented below). Design 'D1' has the "JSU" logo on both the left and right sides.

The team nickname was changed from "Indians" to "RedHawks" prior to the 2005 season.

*1 This design was in use during at least 1977 and 1978, and again in 1983 - I am unsure if it was in use during the intervening years.

*2 Worn during the 2014 game at Kansas. The numerals were used only on the left side of each helmet; on the right side was worn a large "hawk head" logo (as represented below).

In 2017 TSU used two of the above helmet designs in the following sequence: A-A-A; A-B-B; B-A-A; A-B.

*1 This design was used during TSU's last four games of the 2010 season (vs Tennessee Tech, vs Eastern Illinois, at Tennessee-Martin, at Murray State).

At some point during the late 1990s, UT-Martin used white helmets with a decal of the team name "Skyhawks" on the sides; I would appreciate a clear photograph of one of these helmets. The team name was changed from "Pacers" to "Skyhawks" in 1995.

*1 The numerals on this helmet design were worn only on the left sides of the helmets during at least the 2004 season.
