During recent years Bethune-Cookman has used the following sequences of helmet designs:

The photograph below shows a design used by FAMU in 1971; the logo appears to be a "snake head" inside a circle. I would greatly appreciate any clearer photographs of this design. This photograph was found in Santa Clara's 1972 yearbook.

During recent years Grambling State has used the following sequences of helmet designs:

Grambling State has apparently always used black helmets shells during the period covered by this web site (1960 to present). The oval "G" logo was apparently first used in approximately 1974, and is the only helmet logo ever used by the team (though the shape of the G has changed slightly through the years). The team probably used plain black helmets without stripes during at least some years in the 1960s, and some photographs suggest that some helmets had a single white or yellow stripe at the same time when others had a single red stripe or no stripes.

During recent years JSU has used the following sequences of the above helmet designs:

Jackson State used plain white helmets during their first few games of the 2003 season, with the exception of game #3 against Tennessee State on September 13. During this game at least some of the JSU players were wearing an unusually small decal that I cannot identify from the one photograph I have received showing it (shown below), but which is probably a "tiger head" of some sort. I would appreciate any larger and clearer photographs than this one.

In 2023 MVSU used two of the above helmet designs in the following sequence: A-A-A; A-B-B; B-A-B; A-A.

In 2001 MVSU used white helmets with an oval-shaped logo that I believe was used only during that year; shown below is the best photograph I have received of that helmet design. I would appreciate a copy of the logo used on this design.

*1 Uniform numbers are present on the left side only of this design; a logo adorns the right side (as shown below).
