This new league results from the merger of the USFL and XFL. Four XFL teams and three USFL teams have been retained, while the two Houston franchises have been merged and will retain the Houston Roughnecks (from the XFL) identity. Hence there are only three surviving USFL "team names". Unlike the USFL, UFL teams will play their home games in the city corresponding with the team name.

During their first games in 2024 all teams appeared to use the same design used in 2023, with the exception of the Birmingham Stallions, who used a very slightly different design. The Roughnecks continue to use a non-symmetrical design; the right side is depicted below.
