Acadia used another helmet design apparently during the 2001 season only; it featured a red "A" that was thicker and bulkier than the one appearing on the 2002 helmet. Below is a photograph. I would appreciate a copy of this 2001 "A" logo from somebody.

Descriptions of some of this team's earlier helmet designs have been received:
- c. mid-1960s: white helmets with a white "B" inside a purple "sphere";
- ? - 1976: silver helmets with a logo consisting of a white "B" inside a purple shield; purple/white/purple 1" stripes;
- 1977 - 1978: white helmets with a logo consisting of a burnt orange "B" inside a purple shield; orange/purple/orange stripes;
- 1979: white helmets with silver/purple/silver stripes and the script "Gaiters" logo.
Photographs of any of these historical helmets would be appreciated.
