WEEK THREE (September 19)

West Virginia (+7) over Auburn
Mountaineer quarterback Jarrett Brown is looking more like an NFL prospect and has been extremely successful throwing the ball around to a large number of capable receivers. Running back Noel Devine ran for 207 yards last year in the win over Auburn and gives WVU a balanced attack. This will be the biggest test thus far in the 2009 season for Auburn. Ben Tate currently leads the SEC in rushing and the new Wildcat offense with Kodi Burns as the triggerman has finally given the Tigers some offensive firepower. The Mountaineers have won their last five games against SEC competition. Getting a touchdown advantage is too good to pass up.
West Virginia 31 Auburn 28

Bowling Green (-3) over Marshall
Bowling Green senior quarterback Tyler Sheehan has had a strong start to the season and has only tossed one interception. The Falcons looked good defeating Sun Belt power Troy and taking Missouri to the wire last week on the road. They have never won in Huntington and Marshall has star power at many numerous positions such as Darius Marshall at running back, Cody Slate at tight end and Albert McClellan at defensive end...the same type of line up Troy threw at Bowling Green in the first week with the exception that the rest of the Marshall team is extremely sub par in talent. This one is going to be close.
Bowling Green 34 Marshall 28

Wyoming at Colorado UNDER 52 points
Wyoming actually plays very good defense. Colorado actually plays very bad offense. The Cowboys have not been too productive on the offensive side either with this new system under the guidance of former Missouri offensive coordinator Dave Christensen. Head coach Dan Hawkins is on the Boulder hot seat, he needs this win in a bad way. Look for his defense to answer the bell much better than they did the previous two outings. This should not the best game to watch on Saturday if you are a lover of high scoring affairs.
Colorado 23 Wyoming 21

Navy at Pittsburgh OVER 52 points
Both of these teams have been able to score points thus far into the season. If last year's game were any indication (a 42-21 Pitt victory), then the 2009 game should not be much different. Ricky Dobbs throws a nice pass and is going to be one of the better Navy quarterbacks to have played in this system. That is quite a statement. The Midshipmen have already lined up against a highly regarded BCS level team in Ohio State. Look for Pitt to utilize a "safe" passing attack with Bill Stull behind center. No matter, the Panthers have been able to score points so far. It's another high scoring affair. The winner will need to score 35 points.
Pittsburgh 35 Navy 31
