In

checking in at 6-4, 210 pounds – donning
Offensive Freshman of the Year honors from 2000.
Building on that season, he was tabbed a first-team
All-Big12 as a sophomore in 2001 – here
he is…Texas wide receiver Roy
Williams.
At this corner (literally), wearing the maroon
shirt, standing at 6-1, 195 pounds – an
All-Big 12 First Team selection…won the
Sooner Iron Man Award last year as the top performer
on the team in strength and conditioning drills–
in the past a two-way performer - Oklahoma cornerback
Andre Woolfolk.
Standing
at 6-1, 200 pounds, the freshman sensation of
2000 …set a UT freshman record with 41 receptions
and another record by catching a pass in 27 consecutive
games, give it up for Mr. B.J.
Johnson.
Facing him at 5-11 and 194 pounds, the #3 rated
cornerback in the nation by The Sporting News,
a First Team All-Big 12 selection by every news
source available. He has logged five career interceptions
(the most on the team) and is a consensus Preseason
All-American – let’s hear it for Derrick
Strait.
Switching sides while the Sooners have the ball,
a man who is the #1 tight end in the country…
he led all of the nation’s tight ends with
61 receptions last season. Only one of three 2001
Mackey Award finalists back for 2002. Standing
at 6-2 and 250 pounds - Mr. Clutch…Trent
Smith.
In the white corner, one of the Big 12’s
top cover men, listed on the Thorpe Award’s
watch list as the nation’s outstanding defensive
back, at 5-10 and 187 pounds, a man who needs
no introduction - big senior
Rod Babers.
Combining efforts opposite Babers, will be the
other facet of the duel Thorpe Award Candidacy
in Austin, a Second Team All-Big 12 choice from
2001 who has an interception in three games this
season…also tying a school record seven
interceptions a year ago. At 5-11, 180 pounds
– put your hands together for Mr. Nathan
Vaaaaaasher.
Attempting to crack this Longhorn secondary in
the maroon corner, a man who was the first of
four current OU players to break the school record
for career receptions. He is #8 on the All-Time
Big 12 list with 127 catches – at 6-0, 190
pounds, Antwone
“the ravage” Savage.
